June Network Meeting

June 7 @ 7:15 pm - 9:00 pm

The focus this month is on our FUTURE – introducing two new books that will pleasantly surprise you!

STEVE JENKINS will be presenting a short video and discussing Tony Seba’s new book “Clean Disruption of Energy and Transportation”.

You may not already be aware just how quickly or how much of a disruption wind, solar power and electric transport will make to society regardless of what politicians do or say right now. Tony Seba clearly shows us how exponential improvements to performance and prices will make oil, nuclear, natural gas, coal, electric utilities and conventional cars obsolete by 2030.

KEVIN FREA will also be presenting the main ideas from the new book edited by Paul Hawken titled “Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming”.

Even though Tony Seba’s vision may be inevitable these changes will not be enough to prevent catastrophic global warming on their own. A team of over 200 eminent scientists from around the world have gathered a list of the 100 top projects that, using current technology and understanding, can completely reverse global warming by 2050. All projects have been costed in both financial and environmental terms and listed according to their scale of importance.

We all need to decide which of these projects we can personally help with and what Transition Projects we can set up to help with others.
