  TCL Sewing Café Lancaster has invited different activists from Lancaster and Morecambe district who are going to tell us about their projects and points of views around clothes, research and community engagement and would love you to be part of it. Dynamo Cycle Campaign

Lancaster’s Cycle Campaign, Dynamo, has been campaigning for safety improvements on the A6 for several years, which stepped up in December 2014 when they wrote to Lancashire Council Council about the awful accident statistics and demanded action. They then worked up a list of improvements in April 2015, together with the Council’s Road Safety Manager. The significant improvements needed relate to the junctions where accidents have occurred, as well as minor lining and signing updates. In all of this time, the Council has managed only the lining and signing and has even back tracked on promises to complete the work….

New Year’s Day walk

Instead of holding a Transition network meeting this month (January) we invite you to join us on a walk on New Years Day. You can join us at a number of points depending on how active you are feeling. For a slightly longer walk meet up with Steve on the Millennium Bridge at 11:45am and walk the cycle track to Morecambe Promanade.(approximately 3 miles 1:20-1:30pm Congregate at The C2C start point just south of the Midland Hotel (about 100 m along the Prom near the mini roundabout opposite the Platform). The first Sewing Café’s workshop on a Saturday, by the talented Linda Smalley. Visible darning/embroidery on knitwear, using a traditional darning mushroom. Come and join us, free of charge ( although donations are welcome)   We will be at the Cornerstone Cafe between 10:30am and 13:00
