On Tuesday, 14th September at Halton Mill a number of local people gathered together to hear a talk from Paul Allen from the Centre of Alternative Technology near Aberystwyth. The talk was focussed on Zero Carbon Britain and showed us all how it is completely within the realms of possibility that we can attain zero carbon emissions here in the British Isles by 2030. Dynamo Cycle Campaign

Lancaster’s Cycle Campaign, Dynamo, has been campaigning for safety improvements on the A6 for several years, which stepped up in December 2014 when they wrote to Lancashire Council Council about the awful accident statistics and demanded action. They then worked up a list of improvements in April 2015, together with the Council’s Road Safety Manager. The significant improvements needed relate to the junctions where accidents have occurred, as well as minor lining and signing updates. Instead of holding a Transition network meeting this month (January) we invite you to join us on a walk on New Years Day. You can join us at a number of points depending on how active you are feeling. For a slightly longer walk meet up with Steve on the Millennium Bridge at 11:45am and walk the cycle track to Morecambe Promanade.(approximately 3 miles 1:20-1:30pm Congregate at The C2C start point just south of the Midland Hotel (about 100 m along the Prom near the mini roundabout opposite the Platform).
