July 5 @ 7:15 pm - 9:00 pm

Event Navigation

Over the last few months we have covered a number of topics in the Transition Network Meeting exploring ideas that massively impact our world that TCL projects and individuals have been working on:

  • No Dig food growing at Claver Hill
  • Fashion Revolution Week and the “True Cost” of Clothes for people and planet.
  • Modern Monetary Theory – explaining where government money comes from and how it works.
  • Dying Matters – Transition Approaches to death and dying , introducing the new TCL guide book to alternative funerals
  • Clean Disruption – exploring developments in EV’s, Batteries and solar’s disruptive impact on our current energy and transport Practices
  • Drawdown – exploring the 100 projects that have been compiled by a team of eminent scientists from around the world to show us all how we can act to reverse global warming by 2030

Many of these presentations, though not all, have active people and groups working at reasearching and sharing knowledge, sharing skills and local project development. The first Wednesday of every month is available for transition people to use, to inspire others, to share ideas and create action for local resilience projects. If you’d like to use the booked space at the Friends Meeting House, or use it elsewhere, then please contact the admin people for TCL via info@transitioncitylancaster.org. It’s your space, you are invited to come forward and share your ideas – book a session to share your ideas with the group.

Industrial Hemp Solutions Documentary film– international – 20 minutes

Its much more engaging than it sounds!

We will be be showing a short film exploring the potential of agricultural hemp as a multi-product crop with the ability to provide cleaner and cheaper alternatives in agriculture, building, food and manufacturing. From Oil to clothing, from plastics to concrete, hemp looks like a miracle plant, so why isn’t everyone growing it? What can we do about it?
